Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) refers to NCAA guidance that allows student-athletes to earn compensation for the use of NIL. This legislation allows student-athletes to earn compensation in the following ways:
- Advertisement appearances
- Autograph sales
- Personal appearances
- Personal brand and business activities
- Private camps, clinics, and lessons
- Social media promotions and influencer activities
- Other third-party endorsements

NIL ACTIVITY EXECUTION
STEP 1
NIL ACTIVITY INITIATION
- Dam Nation initiates the NIL Activity by submitting an offer to the student-athlete(s) via the Opendorse platform.
- The student-athlete(s) are notified of the pending NIL Activity offer.
STEP 2
STUDENT-ATHLETE REVIEW & ACCEPTANCE
- Once the student-athlete(s) accept the NIL Activity offer via the Opendorse platform, the compliance office is notified of the accepted pending NIL Activity offer.
- The compliance office reviews the accepted pending NIL Activity offer.
STEP 3
COMPLIANCE OFFICE ACCEPTANCE
- Once the compliance office verifies the accepted pending NIL Activity offer via the Opendorse platform, the student-athlete(s) are notified of the verification.
- The Opendorse platform directs the student-athlete(s) to complete the NIL Activity.
- Once completed, the student-athlete(s) verify the completion of the NIL Activity via the Opendorse platform.
STEP 4
NIL ACTIVITY COMPLETION
- Dam Nation receives notification and proof of the completed NIL Activity from the student-athlete(s) via the Opendorse platform.
- Dam Nation confirms completion of the NIL Activity via the Opendorse platform.
STEP 5
PAYMENT & DISCLOSURE
- Upon Dam Nation’s confirmation that the NIL Activity has been completed by the student-athlete(s), the Opendorse platform initiates payment to the student-athlete(s).
- Finally, the Opendorse platform creates a disclosure of the completed NIL Activity and submits it to the compliance office.
